Kelsey Wyland Kistler (she/they) was born in Livonia, Michigan. She received her Associate's of Liberal Arts from Schoolcraft College in 2009, and her B.F.A. in Art with a concentration in Photography from Wayne State University (Detroit) in 2011.
Much of their personal work deals with the psychological - whether it be exploring the emotional manifestation of an environment, investigating boundaries of thought and expression in candid photography, or dealing directly with their own struggles with mental illness through self-portraiture. In addition to a love of photography, they are driven by their interests in fan culture, science fiction, mental health, LGBTQ issues, intersectional feminism, and human rights.
